"I Knew She Would Become a Heroine": Maruthi At Garividi Lakshmi Trailer Launch

The trailer launch event of Garividi Lakshmi was held recently, and popular director Maruthi attended the event as the chief guest. During the event, he spoke about the film, actress Anandhi and the efforts of the entire team.

Interestingly, Anandhi has a special connection with Maruthi. She made her acting debut as a heroine with Maruthi's Bus Stop in 2013. Maruthi recalled how he first noticed Anandhi during a stage performance at Nizam College grounds in 2011.

Maruthi said he immediately felt that Anandhi could become a heroine. He met her mother and later introduced Anandhi as the female lead in Bus Stop. After that film, Anandhi went on to act in several Tamil movies.

Speaking about her performance as Garividi Lakshmi, Maruthi showered praise on the actress. He said her performance was “mind-blowing” and appreciated the way she completely believed in the character.

Maruthi also said that playing a real-life character in a biopic is not easy. According to him, the actor has to bring life to the character and make the audience believe that they are watching the real person. He felt that Anandhi had done this very well in Garividi Lakshmi.

He also praised director Gowri Naidu Jammau for presenting the story in a realistic and rustic manner. Maruthi appreciated the natural locations and the authentic atmosphere shown in the trailer.

Maruthi praised the producers, including Krithi Prasad and TG Vishwa Prasad, for making the film with passion. He said the team visited real locations and worked without depending heavily on sets to maintain authenticity. He also appreciated the quality of the film despite working with a controlled budget.

The director also praised Naresh and the other actors for their performances. He congratulated music director Charan Arjun and said his talent is clearly visible through the film's music.

Maruthi said he was happy that People Media Factory is bringing such a different story. He felt the North Andhra backdrop, folk songs and nostalgic elements could connect strongly with audiences.

Finally, Maruthi wished Garividi Lakshmi a huge blockbuster success. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 17, 2026.
