Ravi Teja’s Mass Jatara Faces Shooting Halt Dilemma
After the Film Chamber rejected their proposal for a 30% increase in daily salaries, trade unions demanded a halt.
By: Shanaz B Syed | 8 Aug 2025 1:46 PM ISTThe whole film business is at a standstill due to the ongoing Tollywood bandh. After the Film Chamber rejected their proposal for a 30% increase in daily salaries, trade unions demanded a halt. Shootings on all floors have been halted as a result, and even the puja ceremonies for the premiere of new films have been postponed indefinitely. Hundreds of crores worth of high-profile star hero projects have also had to halt in the middle.
Mass Jatara, the eagerly awaited show featuring Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja, is caught squarely in the center of this upheaval. The film, which is in its final, vital stages of production, is directed by Bhanu Bhogavarapu and produced by the prominent banner Sithara Entertainments. The initial plan called for the unit to be finished in a week, with only a montage song and a few patchwork sequences left to shoot.
However, with the bandh in effect, the crew now finds itself in a tricky position. The unions have made it clear they will not allow workers from other states to replace the striking workforce. To make matters more pressing, Mass Jatara already has a locked release date, August 27. Any further delay in shooting could directly impact post-production timelines, leaving little room for recovery.
While talks between the Film Chamber and the trade unions are ongoing, insiders hint that a breakthrough might be achieved by today or tomorrow. For now, the team of Mass Jatara is holding its breath, hoping the deadlock will end before the release schedule comes under serious threat.
