Sukumar Pushed? Ram Charan Excited? How Peddi Happened?

After the calamitic Game Changer, Ram Charan decided to work with Buchi Babu for his upcoming project Peddi. This project is currently under the production stage, and we are hearing an interesting report on the same now.

Director Buchi Babu Sana recently opened up about Peddi, confirming that Ram Charan was always his top pick for the lead role. After the success of Uppena, Buchi Babu shared the script with his mentor Sukumar, who encouraged him to approach Charan. Despite earlier speculation about a possible collaboration with Jr NTR, that plan didn’t take off, and Peddi moved forward with Ram Charan as the star.

At the teaser launch, Buchi Babu recalled a proud moment watching it with Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi. Although he felt nervous, Chiranjeevi’s positive feedback was a huge boost. The teaser’s climax, where Charan delivers a powerful cricket shot, received strong reactions and was choreographed by stunt director Navakanth.

Peddi, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyenndu, is set to hit screens globally on March 27, 2026, with music by AR Rahman.

It appears that multiple factors came into play in the materialisation of Peddi. Right from Sukumar’s persistence and encouragement, followed by Charan’s keen interest in the project which led to its materialisation.
