When Malayalam actor Matthew Thomas started promoting his new film Lovely, he probably didn�t expect to be fielding comparisons to a Telugu classic. But here we are�another fly on the screen, and everyone�s talking Eega.

Matthew, who found huge pan-India popularity through Premalu, is now starring in Lovely, a film that pairs his character with a housefly�not as a warrior this time, but as a companion. �It�s not Eega,� he said plainly during interviews. �That was a revenge action film. Lovely is a slice-of-life drama about an unexpected friendship. The fly even has a name.�

While promoting Lovely, Matthew also spoke about some flak he received for his role in Bromance. Critics and fans found his performance too aggressive. He admitted he played it with intensity, believing it suited the script at the time, but later accepted the feedback, saying, �I get it now. It probably felt like I was doing too much.�
