Living up to its reputation, Sony LIV is now coming with yet another promising show, "Mayasabha: The Rise of the Titans".
The Telugu original web series was created by Deva Katta, and he directed it along with Kiran Jay Kumar. Mayasabha is set for its premiere on August 7. It features Aadhi Pinisetty as Kakarla Krishnama Naidu, Chaitanya Rao as MS Rami Reddy, and Divya Dutta as Iravati Basu, playing the key lead roles. Kickstarting the promotions, the team has unveiled the show's teaser today and going by it, Mayasabha looks like a highly gripping political drama.
It appears to be loosely inspired by real-life political events and explores the themes of political ambition and betrayal. The story of Mayasabha is set in the politically volatile landscape of mid-90s Andhra Pradesh.
The teaser kicks off with a voiceover stating that the Chief Minister is on the verge of expelling 35 MLAs from his own party. This political turmoil is shown as the result of the intense power struggle between the CM and his ambitious son-in-law Naidu (played by Aadi Pinishetty). Amid this chaos, Naidu tells his close friend Reddy (Chaitanya Rao) that he is going against his father-in-law to safeguard his political existence. He asks Reddy, who is a leader in the rival party, about whether there is a way out of this political maze. Reddy replies that if Naidu survives, he will forever be labelled a backstabber by him. With these in-depth dialogues, the teaser sets the tone for the gritty drama ahead. We then witness glimpses of their brotherhood and the political circumstances that shaped the rise of Reddy and Naidu.
To sum it up, Mayasabha promises a gripping insight into power dynamics and betrayal. The series will be available for streaming in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam, exclusively on Sony LIV from August 7.
