In the recent times, there have been several complaints from the Telugu audience about how several Telugu films have been coming with substantially high ticket prices. They are clearly pointing out that they are not in favour of this elevated ticket prices.

In this context, something very interesting is happening in the case of Mirai. This film has Teja Sajja in the lead role, and it has started to deliver big time at the box office with the opening day revenues in the range of ₹27 crore.

The best thing about this, Teja Sajja and Director Karthik Ghattamaneni film is that it went for nominal prize in the Telugu state of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The film followed the standard pricing model of rupees 295 in Telangana Multiplex and ₹177 in Andhra Pradesh. The makers did not go for any sort of elevated ticket prices, despite spending a substantial amount of budget on the production of the film.

It appears that the Telugu audience are also sending a strong signal to film makers about how they’re ready to encourage quality films with nominal ticket prices. This is another Testament of the fact that the crowd turn out at theatres is far more important than elevated ticket prices.

This could be a case study for other medium budget films in Telugu cinema, henceforth, considering the kind of success, this film is achieving with standard prices and not going for hikes.

This might be a tough appeal to swallow for film makers who have been going for elevated and additional prices in recent years, but this is a hard fact and needs to be studied by other film makers as well.
