The Mirzapur franchise has a huge fan base across India. When the popular OTT series made its way to the big screen, many expected it to create a big sensation across the country. The characters from the series, especially Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu Pandit and Munna Bhaiya, have already become very popular among viewers.

Mirzapur: The Movie has received a strong response in several parts of the country. Despite having an A certificate, a long runtime and intense violence and adult content, the film has managed to attract a large number of audiences. The reviews may not be completely positive, but the popularity of the franchise has helped the movie at the box office.

The film is reportedly moving towards a huge opening weekend and is expected to come close to the Rs 100 crore mark. This shows the strength of the Mirzapur brand and its characters.

However, the situation is quite different in the Telugu states. The film has not created the expected impact in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The collections are said to be very poor compared to the response in other markets.

This has come as a surprise because the Mirzapur web series has a decent following among Telugu viewers. Many Telugu audiences are familiar with the show's characters and story. Because of this, there were expectations that the movie would also get good attention in the Telugu market.

One major reason for the weak response could be the promotional strategy. The makers did not appear to spend enough time and effort promoting the movie in the Telugu states. Apart from a press meet, there was limited promotional activity.

The biggest missed opportunity seems to be Munna Bhaiya. He is one of the most loved characters in the Mirzapur universe and could have been used more effectively to connect with Telugu audiences.

While North India is showing strong interest in the return of the Mirzapur universe, the Telugu market has given a disappointing response. The film's performance shows that even a popular franchise needs proper promotions and strong local marketing to succeed in every market.
