Drishyam 3: Endless Thirst To Cash On The Craze?

One of the most successful franchises after the Baahubali series is none other than Drishyam, crafted by talented Malayalam filmmaker Jeethu Joseph. However, there is controversy regarding the third outing of this franchise, and the makers have directly released the Drishyam 3 Malayalam version in all the South languages, while the Hindi version will be remade with Ajay Devgn. Guess what, Drishyam 3 did amazingly well at the Malayalam box office, collecting nearly ₹235 crores from the global box office, while Telugu and other versions failed to click.

Featuring the likes of Mohan Lal, Meena as the main couple, and Ester Anil as their daughter, the film revolves around how the lead man George Kutty escapes from the various crimes they have committed, though they are right ethically. While the film’s Part 3 is doing amazing, the director gave hints about a possible Part 4 as well at the end of the movie. Though the Malayalam audience has no complaints about this, other towns in the tinsel are not taking it positively as Jeetu Joseph is literally cashing on the craze of the franchise, with his endless thirst, they say.

However, when the likes of Avengers and Spider-Man could be continued for years and made more than a dozen movies, many are wondering why Jeetu Joseph should not make half a dozen films on this concept. There’s no point in caling his idea as a bland, because Part 3 also made ₹200+ crores collection in just 2 weeks, proving that audiences are enjoying his type of cinema. On the other hand, after some break, Mohanlal has once again proven that he’s that grand old star of Malayalam cinema, who could pull off gigantic numbers effortlessly.
