After taking official permission to hike the ticket prices, the tickets of “Peddi” are sold at more than ₹400 and ₹600 depending on the place, in many areas, for the release date and the release week as well. However, with Ram Charan saying that Cinema is still the cheapest entertainment in India, many netizens are trolling him big time. Is the Peddi star completely wrong? Or are the audiences wrong? Or is there some in between?

“In India, still the cheapest form of entertainment is cinema for a family to go and enjoy the communal viewing. Of course, it would be better if the popcorn rates come down a bit,” said Ram Charan at a national television special conversation debut. The moment this clipping came out, many started trolling the actor, saying that movie prices are quite high but the actor is not even thinking twice before making such comments. Some even asked if cinema is the cheapest entertainment, then why are his producers asking the government for ticket hikes? Some even commented that even the remunerations of heroes should come down, for the movie industry to become better.

At the same time, some are defending Charan, saying that there’s nothing wrong in what he said. They say that a cinema can still be viewed with a ₹150-500 ticket after the first week, but then, you can’t buy a ticket to a concert or a standup comedy show for anything below ₹1000. Even the government-operated water parks with chlorine-infused unclean water are charging nearly ₹700+ in Telugu states, so naturally, cinema is cheaper than that.
