Ticket prices have always been a major topic of discussion in the film industry. Many people believe that high ticket prices keep audiences away from theatres while low prices help bring more people to cinemas. But is this really true? The latest box office results show that ticket prices alone cannot decide the fate of a movie.

There have been films that achieved blockbuster success even with ticket prices of Rs. 500 and Rs. 600. At the same time, some films failed to attract audiences even when tickets were available at very low prices. This clearly shows that content matters more than ticket prices.

Recently, Bollywood films like Vibe, Haiwaan and Daayra failed at the box office despite the makers offering discounts and special ticket deals. Reports said that some booking platforms offered 50% discounts and Buy One Get One Free offers to attract movie lovers. However these offers could not save the films from disappointing results.

One important reason is that audiences today are more careful about spending money on movies. They want to know whether a film is worth their time and money. If the story, trailer and promotions create excitement, people may be ready to pay higher ticket prices to watch it in theatres.

On the other hand, even cheap tickets may not help a film if its content fails to impress audiences. People may watch a movie once, but negative word of mouth can affect its collections from the next day.

Of course, affordable ticket prices can help families and regular moviegoers visit theatres. They can also encourage people to take a chance on smaller films. But discounts alone cannot create interest in a movie that has failed to connect with the audience.

The film industry must understand this simple point. Only ticket rates can't decide any movie fate . Whether tickets cost Rs. 50 or Rs. 600, the movie hit status can be decided only by the story and nothing else.
