As we bid farewell to 2024, a year filled with cinematic gems, 2025 stands at the threshold, promising an exciting array of entertainment. With the curtain rising on the new year, a diverse lineup of films and web series is set to captivate audiences worldwide. From heartwarming narratives to adrenaline-pumping action, the coming year holds something special for every cinephile.

Kicking off the year with a bang, ‘Marco’ brings a high-octane Malayalam action drama to the silver screen. Directed by Hanif and featuring Unni Mukundan in the lead role, the film has already made waves at the box office, amassing over ₹80 crore, far surpassing its production budget of ₹30 crore. After its successful run, it now aims to capture the hearts of Telugu movie-goers, with its release scheduled for January 1.

Following closely is ‘All We Imagine as Light’, a film that has garnered attention and praise from audiences and critics alike, including former US President Barack Obama. This story, directed by Payal Kapadia and starring Kani Kusruti and Divya Prabha, revolves around two nurses from Mumbai whose lives are forever changed by a road trip. It beautifully captures their search for love against the backdrop of their struggle for survival in the bustling metropolis. Disney + Hotstar is set to stream this poignant tale starting January 3.

For those who prefer the comfort of their homes, Netflix and Amazon Prime are gearing up to release a slew of titles. Netflix's lineup includes the documentary ‘Avicii’ on December 31, and a range of movies and web series such as ‘Don't Die’, ‘Missing Ye’, ‘Re Union’, ‘Love is Blind’, ‘Selling the City’, and ‘When the Stars Gossip’ from January 1 to January 4. Amazon Prime is not far behind, with ‘Gladiator 2’ set to debut on January 1, followed by ‘The Rig’ and ‘Guna’ in the subsequent days.

Regional streaming platforms are also joining the New Year celebration with their offerings. Manorama Max is set to release ‘I am Kathalan’ in Malayalam on January 1, while Aha brings ‘Jolly O Zinhana’ in Tamil to its viewers on December 30. For those interested in Hollywood releases, Book My Show will stream ‘Christmas Eve in Miller's Point’ on December 30, ensuring a festive end to the year.

As 2025 unfolds, this eclectic mix of movies and web series promises to deliver unforgettable moments and stories that resonate.
