Tamil director AR Murugadoss was once considered as one of the top filmmakers in South India. There was a time when every star hero wanted to work with him and he delivered one blockbuster after another. Even the films which did not do well commercially like 'Stalin' and '7th Sense' had wonderful concepts. Unfortunately, his luck faded away after 'Kaththi' which came out in 2014. He made 'Spyder' with Mahesh Babu and it was a huge disaster. The expectations were so high and Murugadoss disappointed heavily in that film.

After that, he made 'Sarkar' with Vijay and 'Darbar' with Rajnikanth. Though both of them made good money, people clearly saw Murugadoss' dip in form. He was out of ideas and his screenplay lacked the magic touch that was seen in his earlier movies. After 'Darbar', he is yet to make a film. He tried to set projects with Vijay and Siva Karthikeyan but nothing worked out. Recently, there were reports about him working with Bollywood's Bahijaan Salman Khan.

Rumors came out that producer Sajid Nadiadwala bought the rights of 'Kick 2' and Murugadoss is going to direct this remake in Hindi. As we know, 'Kick 2' was a flop despite having a good story. With the rumors spreading all over, he officially released a statement saying, “We would like to officially announce that all speculations and rumours with regard to #Kick2 are untrue. A special project with #ARMurugadoss is underway. Would kindly request all media houses to wait for the official announcement soon. Thank You!”

It is a huge chance for Murugadoss to bounce back. He has a good track record in Hindi with movies like 'Ghajini' and 'A Holiday' ('Tupaki' remake). Though 'Akira' with Sonakshi flopped, Murugadoss is quite respected in Bollywood. The doors have completely closed down for him in Telugu and he is unable to work with big names in Tamil. So, the huge chance of working with Salman Khan is a golden opportunity for the 'Stalin' director. We need to see how things turn out for him.
