Director Nag Ashwin has finally spoken about the criticism surrounding his blockbuster film Kalki 2898 AD. Known for staying away from social media arguments, the filmmaker decided to respond after several online comments questioned the way the character of Karna was shown in the movie.

The discussion began after the release of Lenin. A social media user praised actor Pramod Panju’s performance and said that this was how Karna should have been portrayed on screen. The post quickly gained attention, with some users criticizing Nag Ashwin’s version of Karna in Kalki 2898 AD. A few even claimed that the film gave too much importance to Karna and misunderstood the original epic.

Instead of ignoring the comments, Nag Ashwin decided to explain his point of view. He shared a page from The Mahabharata, translated by Bibek Debroy. The page included words spoken by Lord Krishna about Karna.

Nag Ashwin asked people to read the Mahabharata before judging his film. He suggested Bibek Debroy’s translation and also encouraged people to search online about the many times Krishna praised Karna in the epic. The director said that he has great respect for Indian history and mythology and understands the subject well.

His strongest message was, “I know what I’m doing. Wait for Part 2.” This statement has created fresh excitement among movie lovers. Many fans believe the sequel will explain Karna’s character in greater detail and answer the questions raised after the first film.

The debate has once again brought Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 into the spotlight. While some people continue to criticize the film, many others have supported Nag Ashwin’s response and appreciated his confidence.

Meanwhile, the director is also supporting the upcoming film Sing Geetham, directed by veteran filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao. Fans are now eagerly waiting for more updates on both projects, especially the much-anticipated sequel to Kalki 2898 AD.
