BO: Advantage Nagabandham Over Rao Bahadhur

Director Venkatesh Maha who has earlier carved out the film C/o Kancharapalem, has come up with “Rao Bahadhur” the other day. At the same time, producer Abhishek Nama has taken the director’s mantle and carved out the movie " Naga Bandham " with some amazing visual effects. Now that both films are in theatres, and have almost got similar talk, how are the footfalls?

Apparently, Naga Bandham got slammed by critics for its poor portrayal of emotions, while action sequences and visual effects got immense praise. At the same time, Rao Bahadhur was praised for its core plot, but slammed for its dragging, over-preachy social satire and the headache it will induce by the end of the movie. Going by the BookMyShow trends, it looks like more tickets are being sold for Nagabandham than Rao Bahadhur. This is for a reason.

Because these days audiences are feeling like rather than spending money to get social lectures inside a theatre, it’s better to enjoy some fantasy concept that will give at least a couple of highs. In that note, Naga Bandham is more appealing to them because it has a spiritual concept, Hindutva tropes and amazing visual effects as well.

We have to see over the weekend how these two films fare and how much collection they are likely to post by the first Monday.
