Naga Vamshi Calls Rajamouli a Market Genius

SSMB 29 officially titled Varanasi, has become one of the most discussed upcoming Indian films. Recently, popular producer Naga Vamshi spoke about the film and director S. S. Rajamouli, and his comments are now going viral.

During an interaction, the anchor asked whether planning such a massive event in Varanasi just to release a title and glimpse was a big move. Responding to this, Naga Vamshi said, "That is why we call Rajamouli a market genius. Only he can think like this. Till now, no one imagined planning such a large scale event just to release a glimpse and introduce the film theme." He added that the director’s marketing ideas are always unique and powerful.

Talking about the glimpse, Naga Vamshi shared his reaction. "It felt very good. Especially the Anjaneya Swamy shot was excellent," he said. When the anchor mentioned that the film would look great in IMAX, the producer agreed and commented, "Yes, it would be great if we get more IMAX screens in Hyderabad. Otherwise, we may have to travel to another city to watch it."

Few days ago, the teaser of Varanasi was unveiled at a grand event held at Ramoji Film City. The teaser opens with an asteroid hitting the Antarctic Ocean, followed by visuals from different parts of the world, including the African wilderness. The final shot shows Mahesh Babu riding a Nandi bull while holding a Trishul. His character in the film is named Rudhra.

Rajamouli announced that the film has been shot using IMAX cameras for a global theatrical experience. The film stars Priyanka Chopra as Mandakini and Prithviraj Sukumaran as the antagonist Kumbha. Varanasi is planned as a globe-trotting adventure and is scheduled for release in 2026.
