Naga Vamsi Admits His Mistake: Talks about HHVM vs Kingdom

Producer Naga Vamsi recently opened up about some of his past filmmaking decisions acknowledging mistakes in certain projects. He discussed these issues during an interview while promoting his upcoming film Kingdom which stars Vijay Deverakonda and Bhagyashree Borse directed by Gautam Tinnanuri. The movie is set for a release on July 31 after facing multiple delays.

Talking about the Hari Hara Veera Mallu competition with Kingdom, He said, "‘Hari Hara Veeramallu’ is a very big film. It’s the first film coming after Kalyan Garu became the Deputy CM. In a city with 10 theaters, on the day of release, Hari Hara Veeramallu will play in all those theaters. After that, there will be a chance for other films to take over at least four or five theaters in the following week. For us, those four theaters are enough. I will not distribute Hari Hara Veeramallu. Our film Kingdom has already faced several delays in release. If the delay continues, it will cause problems for OTT platforms."

Naga Vamsi admitted that Rana Rangam was a project where things didn't go as planned. He mentioned that although some well-meaning advice was given to change the character portrayal of Sharwanand, the team decided to proceed with their initial vision which in hindsight was a misstep. He also spoke candidly about the failure of Aadi Keshav, mentioning how they tried to salvage it with some changes, but it ultimately didn’t connect with the audience.

Naga Vamsi acknowledged that these setbacks were costly for his banner, but he also highlighted the valuable lessons he learned from those experiences.
