Why Didn't NC & Team Announce 'Dhootha 2'?

It is well-known that Naga Chaitanya's debut web series 'Dhootha' was released a few months back and it got a phenomenal response. It gave a sigh of relief to Chaitanya who was suffering from flops till then. There were a lot of rumors regarding the second season and the announcement arriving at the Prime Video event. But it did not happen as 'Dhootha' were just invited on stage and appreciated.

The first and main reason is the fact that Naga Chaitanya doesn't want to continue in the OTT space. Despite the craze of 'Dhootha', he wants to stay away from OTT platforms. He pinned a lot of hopes of 'Thandel' directed by Chandoo Mondeti. He waited for a year during the pre-production stage and even went through a makeover. Unlike Hindi heroes, working on regular films and OTT content at the same time won't work out for our stars. Problems regarding image and market would arise. The excitement over a hero gets reduced when he is easily accessible on small screens.

Also, director Vikram Kumar has other commitments. He is going to team up with Nithiin after 15 years according to reports and it has become official too. Also, there are discussions going on with Nagarjuna as well. He is trying to team up with another medium hero too. So, he has no time for 'Dhootha 2' but guarantees that he would ready 3-4 stories with 'Dhootha' backdrop. We need to see if Naga Chaitanya would be the hero or not in those projects.
