Pallaburusu Reminded Me Of My Parents: Nagarjuna

Nagarjuna’s Annapurna Studios, along with Epic Studios is backing the wholesome family entertainer Pallaburusu, directed by Uday Chauhan and starring Sudhakar Reddy and Muralidhar Goud. The movie made a lasting impression with its trailer, and the team celebrated pre-release event.

Nagarjuna found a strong personal connection with the story. He recalled the legacy of his father, who made several acclaimed films under the Annapurna Studios banner that completes 50 years. He also spoke about the studio’s renewed focus on production and distribution.

Nagarjuna said the film immediately reminded him of his parents and Amala’s affection towards her own family. “There is no greater fortune than looking after our parents. They took care of us when we were children. Amala takes very good care of her parents too. When Uday narrated this story, that was the first thing that came to my mind.”

He praised the performances of Sudhakar Reddy and Muralidhar and appreciated the camaraderie within the team. He also credited Pawan for the film’s music. “I watched the film and was completely entertained. I even got emotional for certain scenes.”

Nagarjuna also explained how the film came into existence as part of Annapurna Studios’ effort to explore different cultural identities. “Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka visited Annapurna College about a year ago and asked us why we weren’t making films based on Telangana culture. When we decided to make a film based on Telangana culture, this story came to us. That is how Pallaburusu began.”

The film’s August 14 release also carries a deeply personal significance for Nagarjuna, as the date marks his mother’s birthday.
