This commercial entertainer arrived with massive expectations and people wanted to see Mahesh in a mass avatar after a long time. Also, the combination of Mahesh & Trivikram too made the public expect something huge like 'Athadu' and 'Khaleja'. But the movie's talk on the first day was not as encouraging and a few people even termed the film as a colossal failure.
But the collections suggest otherwise as 'Guntur Karam' grossed over 200 crores in one week. Producer Naga Vamsi who initially claimed that people are enjoying Mahesh Babu's performance and Trivikram mark dialogues a lot in the theatres and asked not to believe in the reports on social media and to enjoy this family entertainer has held a press meet once again.
In this meeting, he revealed that people expected a mass film while 'Guntur Karam' is a family entertainer. He said that they might have failed to promote the movie in the right way and convey that it is a family entertainer. He claimed that the plan of having benefit shows at 1 AM and 4 AM backfired. He took the example of 'Salaar' and said that fans enjoyed a high as it was a mass movie while Mahesh fans did not feel the same way during benefit shows as it was a family entertainer.
While everyone is saying that 'Guntur Karam' is Mahesh's one-man show, Naga Vamsi claimed that it is a 'Two Men' show. He added that Mahesh Babu looked handsome, acted wonderfully and danced energetically in the movie but it is Trivikram who made Mahesh do all this. He quipped that it was always a two-man show.
