They said it was coming. Nobody expected it to land this heavy. Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana: The Introduction, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, finally dropped its much-anticipated teaser and it’s nothing short of cosmic. Clocking in at just under 3 minutes, the video doesn’t waste a second. It opens with breathtaking visuals, layered soundscapes, and the kind of mythical weight that instantly tells you: this isn’t a retelling, it’s a reinvention.

The teaser reveals Ranbir Kapoor as Sri Ram, cloaked in divine glow and calm fury, facing off against Yash’s Ravana, who storms the frame like thunder. But beyond casting, it’s the scale that grabs you. With VFX handled by DNEG and music by both AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer, the teaser feels like a myth rendered through the lens of a space epic.

Fans gathered in huge numbers at Hyderabad’s Prasads Multiplex, where the teaser was screened on IMAX, erupting in applause and cheers. For a project that’s been wrapped in secrecy and speculation for months, this was the kind of first impression that turns hype into belief. You can feel the ambition in every frame—this isn’t just a visual upgrade, it’s a cultural event in the making.

With Part I scheduled for Diwali 2026 and Part II locked for Diwali 2027, Ramayana has officially entered the big league of cinematic universes. If this teaser was the storm cloud, the full downpour is still to come and the skies are rumbling already.
