“Emotion Dominates Action” – Srikanth Odela On Nani’s The Paradise

Natural Star Nani’s upcoming film The Paradise is creating strong expectations among movie lovers. Directed by Srikanth Odela and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the SLV Cinemas banner, the film is a period action entertainer. The movie is scheduled to release worldwide on September 24.

The songs, glimpses and teaser have already received a good response. Ahead of the release, director Srikanth Odela spoke to the media about the film, Nani’s character, the emotions and the making process.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the story, Srikanth Odela said, “This story has three elements — a real-life incident, some characters and fiction.” He also revealed that some parts of Nani’s character were inspired by his childhood.

He said, “My mother wanted a baby girl, but that did not happen. She made me wear plaits and a gown. I had plaits until I was in second class. I took the idea of plaits from there. There is a lot of emotion behind it.”

The director said that his hometown and the incidents he witnessed while growing up also influenced the film. According to him, the story has elements inspired by the areas around Godavarikhani and Adilabad.

Srikanth Odela also explained how he wanted to present Nani differently this time. He said that after Dasara, he wanted to give audiences the mass experience they expected from Nani.

“The Paradise has action, emotions and mother-and-son emotion blended together. But if you ask me, emotion dominates action. The audience will connect very strongly with the emotion in this film,” he said.

He added that Nani’s character will have a strong mass and action image on the big screen. “Nani garu’s Jadal character will give the mass and action audience a great theatrical experience,” the director said.

Srikanth also explained why the team did not release a traditional trailer. “Personally, I like going directly to the theatre and getting surprised by every moment. I want to bring my next film with as few updates as possible,” he said.

The director revealed that the movie took around 170 days to complete. He initially planned to finish it in 160 days, but the shoot extended by another ten days.

Talking about Nani, Srikanth said, “Nani garu and I talk like brothers. He gave me a life as a director. I will always be grateful to him.”

He also praised Anirudh’s music and said the film has six songs, including song bits.

Srikanth confirmed that The Paradise will be a standalone film. “There is no sequel or prequel. This is a single movie,” he clarified.

After the release, Srikanth plans to take a break and spend time with his family. He also confirmed that his film with Chiranjeevi will happen, saying, “The film with Chiranjeevi garu will 100% happen.”
