Talk: Unrealistic Betting On ‘The Paradise’?

After missing out on the August 21st date, Natural star Nani’s upcoming film “The Paradise” is getting ready for a massive release on September 24th. Already, the film is creating waves with its production updates, and the teaser of the film is coming up in two days. Amidst this, it’s coming out that the film is being sold at fancy prices, and many are wondering if the betting is turning out to be unrealistic.

Reportedly, Mythri Movie Makers along with Sithara Entertainment have acquired the Nizam rights of “The Paradise” for a whopping ₹37 crores. That means the film should collect not less than ₹65 crores for the distributors to get ₹37 crore share. If we look at Nani’s previous movies, his Hi Nanna made ₹12.5 crores ‘share’ from Nizam while Saripodha Sanivaram clocked 15 crores share and HIT 3 got only 10 crore distributor share. Many are wondering why Mythri and Sithara are taking such a huge risk?

In recent times, successful Telugu films like Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu got a massive ₹60 crores gross from the Nizam area, while Pawan Kalyan’s #OG has cracked more than ₹75 crores gross and nearly ₹52 crores share. Nani has to pull off something like this with “The Paradise” in order to make sure that the buyers will be profitable.

That said, “The Paradise” is carrying huge buzz and especially in Telangana, the songs like Aaya Sher, the Telangana centric story, and the overall old-city Hyderabad backdrop are likely to play a major role. Once the teaser comes out, maybe all the doubts will go away.
