Dhanush's Om Gets a Big Star Surprise

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah has officially joined the cast of Dhanush's upcoming film Om: Chapter 1. The makers recently shared the exciting update, making the film's star cast even bigger. The movie is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and is one of the most awaited Tamil films of the year.

The film already features a strong lineup of actors including Dhanush, Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela and Indrans. With Naseeruddin Shah joining the team, fans are even more excited to see this combination of talented performers on the big screen.

This film marks Naseeruddin Shah's return to Tamil cinema after a long gap of 26 years. His only Tamil film was Hey Ram, released in 2000, where he played Mahatma Gandhi. That film, directed by Kamal Haasan, remains one of the most memorable movies in his career. Now, after more than two decades, the veteran actor is back in a Tamil project.

Interestingly, Naseeruddin Shah and Mammootty have worked together before. They shared screen space in the Malayalam film Ponthan Mada many years ago. With Om: Chapter 1, the two actors will reunite once again, making it a special moment for cinema lovers.

The film also reunites director Rajkumar Periasamy with Sai Pallavi after their successful collaboration in Amaran. Dhanush and Sai Pallavi are also working together again after appearing in Maari 2. Meanwhile, Mammootty is making his return to Tamil cinema after Peranbu, which was released in 2018.

Om: Chapter 1 is being produced by Dhanush under Wunderbar Films along with Shraddha Agrawal of R Take Studios. The music is composed by Sai Abhyankkar, while Ezhil Arasu handles the cinematography. Editing is done by Kalaivanan, choreography by Sandy, and action scenes are designed by Yannick Ben.

The makers have not revealed the story of the film yet, keeping the plot a secret. Om: Chapter 1 is scheduled to release in theatres on October 16 during the Navaratri holiday season. The film is expected to have a big box office clash with Rajinikanth's Jailer 2, which is set to release a day earlier.
