National Awards Today: Will Kalki Get One?

The National Film Awards given by the Government of India are expected to be announced today evening, and many are looking forward to seeing who will actually get one. Especially with the likes of Allu Arjun walking away with the Best Actor award, the first ever for a Telugu guy, many are wondering if Tollywood makes its mark once again.

One of the most anticipated films to grab a couple of awards is none other than Superstar Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD. For a star of Prabhas’ stature, this is a big experimental film for sure, to keep Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in crucial roles, and let the film run without heavy commercial tropes. However, many expect the film to win an award in the Best VFX category, as well as in a couple of other categories, such as Sound Design and Costumes. Well, it would be a wonder if someone grabs a performance award too.

Other than Kalki 2898 AD, there is Pushpa 2, which has a chance to grab awards, once again for Allu Arjun, or there’s HanuMan, and other movies like small-budgeted ones, including Gaami and Ambajipeta Marriage Band, which might stand a chance to win a couple of awards. But then, the suspense gets lifted only towards the end of the evening today.
