Just when things looked calm around Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale, a new controversy has pulled the Netflix documentary back into the spotlight. This time, it’s because of a clip from the 2005 hit Chandramukhi, starring Rajinikanth and Nayanthara, being used without permission. AP International, which owns the rights to the film, has now sent a legal notice asking for ₹5 crore and taken the matter to the Madras High Court.

According to the news, this isn’t the first red flag the documentary has received. The makers had previously drawn flak from actor Dhanush for including clips from his production Naanum Rowdy Dhaan without approval. In this latest case, AP International claims that their earlier warnings were ignored and demanded both the removal of the Chandramukhi footage and compensation. The court has now directed Netflix and the documentary producers to delete the said clips and reveal the film's earnings.

While the documentary was meant to showcase unseen chapters of Nayanthara’s personal and professional life, it has ironically ended up spotlighting legal loopholes. The actress has not commented yet, and her silence only adds to the intrigue. On the career front, though, she’s far from quiet, with major releases like Toxic with Yash and Patriot with Mohanlal and Mammootty on the horizon, along with several big-ticket projects in the pipeline.
