The shine of stardom often comes with shadows of controversy, and Nayanthara knows this better than most. Her documentary “Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale” was meant to give fans a closer look at her life, but it has instead dragged her into legal storms. After actor-producer Dhanush slapped a ₹10 crore defamation case for using clips from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan without consent, another dispute has now surfaced.

This time, a company named AP International has moved the Madras High Court, claiming that scenes from the blockbuster Chandramukhi were included in the Netflix documentary without proper rights. According to the petitioners, they legally own the rights to Chandramukhi and never granted permission for its footage to be used. They have demanded ₹5 crore as compensation, pulling both Nayanthara and Netflix into the legal net.

The High Court, after hearing the matter, issued notices to Nayanthara and Netflix. Both parties have been directed to file their clarifications by October 6. Until then, the case hangs in suspense, adding more fuel to an already heated debate over copyright use in digital documentaries.

What was meant to be a celebration of the “Lady Superstar” has now turned into a series of court battles. For fans, the documentary showed a softer, personal side of Nayanthara. But for the industry, it has opened up serious questions about legal boundaries. As the court gears up for its next hearing, all eyes are on whether Nayanthara can overcome this storm or whether these cases will cast a long shadow over her fairytale image.
