Back in the 2000s and in the early 2010s, if a film had a lip-lock, that was a big deal. The likes of Ye Maya Chesave were talked about for the lip-lock sequence between the lead pair, like Naga Chaitanya and Samantha. But with the arrival of OTT, where nudity is just part and parcel, the attention span for these types of liplocks and glam-treats has come down drastically.

Here comes a small Telugu film titled “Nilave” which is releasing on Feb 13th on the eve of Valentine's Day weekend. However, the makers screened a special show for some, it looks like, and a reported 1-minute-long lip-lock sequence featuring the lead artists of the film, shot on a mobile phone inside a theatre, got leaked on social media. Some say that this is a publicity stunt by the movie team itself, but what is to be seen is if it will work.

Recently, we have seen how Ashika Ranganath’s bikini sequence from Bhartha Mahaseyulaku Wignyapthi was shot inside theatres on Day 1 of the release, and that created a hungama only on social media. Neither the bikini treat videos increased the film’s footfalls, nor it got huge reach. It looks like even this lip-lock video won’t do anything to pull crowds to theatres, as that will be shared only on social media, and people talk about it only on Twitter. Only if the rest of the content does click, the film gets attention.
