Generally, the Telugu audience have this habit of turning up to theatres during the Valentines week period. But that is not the case this time as the United States audience have completely ignored the new releases.

North America Saturday Gross shows a rather slow beginning for the Valentine’s weekend releases, with none of the new titles making a strong early impact at the box office.

Funky, on its Day 2, collected $17K, leading the pack but still reflecting a modest trend considering the holiday frame. CoupleFriendly, which opened on Day 1, managed $5K in its early Saturday numbers. SeethaPayanam also began its run with $1K on Day 1, while Mylord, on Day 2, reported $1K as well.

Overall, the numbers indicate a sluggish start across the board. Valentine’s weekend is typically expected to boost romantic and youth oriented films, but the early morning gross suggests that audience turnout has been limited so far. Much will depend on evening and late night shows to pick up momentum and improve the overall weekend totals.

With premieres and Friday figures yet to fully reflect in the broader weekend trend, trade analysts will be watching closely to see whether word of mouth and positive audience response can push collections upward.

For now, the North American box office is off to a quiet and cautious start for all the Valentine’s weekend releases.
