Obsession India Collection: Will It Create History?

Hollywood’s latest psychological horror thriller, Obsession, carved out by YouTube Curry Baker, is still going unstoppable at the USA box office. The film is such a level box office phenomenon that it grossed a staggering $290 million at the box office. Even in India, the film is doing extremely well, and it’s likely to create a history of sorts at the box office.

If we look at the most successful Hollywood horror movie in India, definitely “Conjuring” tops the list. One of the film’s franchise movies, “The Conjuring: The Last Rites” has collected almost ₹82 crores gross at the Indian box office, and that’s the highest ever. Now that “Obsession” has collected ₹70 crores already from the Indian box office, and refuses to die down, many say that it might beat The Conjuring’s record. As there are no big films at the Indian Box office currently, with the likes of Ram Charan’s Peddi, Varun Dhawan’s Hai Jawaani Tho Ishq Hona Hai and other movies not doing so great at all in the tinsel towns, Obsession has a fair advantage as we speak.

On the other hand, as more local films hit cinemas, Obsession might find it tough to get single screens, while the movie’s run at multiplexes is undoubtedly going the best. In metros like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Delhi, the film is having a great run with amazing collections for almost all the shows. Anyway, we have to see if the movie will create history very soon.
