OG2: Pawan To Save Another Producer Now?

In Tollywood, sequels changing hands of producers is not a new thing. We have Arya made by Dil Raju, but Arya 2 was made by another production house. Similarly, Akhanda was made by one production house, and Akhanda 2 was taken by another production house. Based on the calls of the hero and the director, production houses are being changed. Otherwise, the IP rights of a particular franchise will be with the original producer only, and legally all the sequel rights vest with them.

For reasons unknown, after making #OG with Pawan Kalyan, DVV Danayya distanced himself from the so-called sequel idea. While the film made enough profits for the producer, he’s not taking part in the sequel debates. Danayya did similarly with RRR as well, as he distanced himself from the film’s Oscar campaign after making huge profits from the theatrical release of the film. Though the authenticity of this news couldn’t be verified, the latest talk is that #OG2 will be a collaboration between Pawan Kalyan Creative Works and People Media Factory. After making some flops in a row, PMF's Vishwa Prasad met Pawan Kalyan for his dates, with a hope that a movie with him will help him amass huge profits, at a time when his PMF is not doing well.

In the name of saving some producers, Pawan Kalyan keeps giving films to people who stood by him during tough times. Whether it is AM Ratnam (Hari Hara Veera Mallu) or DVV Danayya (#OG), it’s Pawan who gave them films. Similarly, he has given Ustaad Bhagat Singh to Mythri Movie Makers, and the film’s delay affected them big time. And then, there are likes of SRT’s Ram Talluri and others waiting for Pawan to work with them. Now that #OG2 is being talked about, many are wondering who would actually produce the film.
