OG Canada Debacle: What’s Happening?

In just a few hours from now, Pawan Kalyan will be returning to the big screen with OG and the anticipation is through the roof for the same. In this context, there is a lot happening with regard to the United States distribution of the film and the distributor is having to react to the same now.

An anguished mega fan tagged the distribution house and wrote “1️⃣ Why is it that only Mega family movies face obstacles every single time in Canada? This pattern has hurt fans again and again.

2️⃣ Why are our films screened only in small, outdated, and poorly maintained theatres? Do you really think that does justice to a massive pan-Indian release like OG?

3️⃣ Why can’t we get a proper release in Cineplex chain theatres like other big films? It should be the standard expectation, not something we have to beg for.”

This triggered a serious reaction from the distribution House, Prathyangira Movies and they reverted back in their own style.

Please point your fingers at the right people who actually started this issue. Threats or extortion don’t scare us we are ready to stand and fight for what’s right, no matter the cost.

It still hurts to remember how the same people troubled Pawan sir’s Bheemla Nayak and made fans suffer without being able to watch peacefully.

If I speak more, they’ll only cry louder on social media. So let’s stop here. From my side, I only want you all to sit back, enjoy, and celebrate the movie at the theatres where it’s screening.

At the end of the day, we are cinema lovers first. That’s why Prathyangira Cinemas was started out of pure love and passion for films. It’s painful that instead of just celebrating cinema, we are being dragged into unprecedented extortion and blackmail.

But no matter what, our bond with the fans and our commitment to cinema will always stay stronger than any obstacle, they concluded.

The Canada distribution of this film has become a Royal mess and there’s umpteen controversy happening surrounding the same.
