The team is currently enjoying the success of the first film. In a recent interview, Sujeeth shared some details about what could come next.
When asked whether the next part would be a prequel or a sequel, Sujeeth said the decision has not been finalized. Interestingly, he mentioned that both a prequel and a sequel could be shot at the same time and released together. This approach is similar to how the Baahubali team managed their movies, planning everything carefully before release. Sujeeth seems to want the OG Universe to follow a similar strategy, keeping fans excited without waiting to see the success of one film before making the next.
Music director Thaman, who was also part of the interview, emphasized that OG is designed to last for at least ten years, making it a long-term film universe. Sujeeth added that the first film only showed a glimpse of Pawan Kalyan’s character, and there is much more to explore. He has ideas to showcase Pawan’s backstory in Japan and to reveal what happens after Arjun Das’ character takes over the port. Several subplots from the first film remain unfinished, offering material for future installments.
Fans are eager to see Pawan Kalyan return to the big screen for the next OG films. However, his political commitments and other responsibilities may affect his availability. Supporters are hopeful that he can allocate dates for the continuation of the franchise after his upcoming project, Ustaad Bhagat Singh.
The OG Universe seems to be shaping up as a long-running cinematic journey, with the potential to explore multiple storylines and characters over the next decade. Both Sujeeth and Thaman are confident that the film’s world can be expanded in exciting ways, giving fans more reasons to stay invested in the story.
