OTT, AI, Gaming: How Are Subscriptions Affecting Employees!

These days, it has become increasingly common for people to subscribe to premium subscriptions like OTT platforms, AI tools, Gaming consoles and other platforms. This has changed the dynamic for the good.

We have never arrived at a point where the subscriptions have become such mainstream that they are taking up a portion of the salary for the employees.

For instance, we have OTT platforms starting at ₹149 per month or more based on the nature of the subscription that is taken. This adds to the existing bills like the internet, Electricity and much more.

On top of that, we have the AI platform bills that are coming up with leading platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, and others starting to charge significantly. This is a very interesting pattern that is being observed in terms of spending capacity of the public.

Previously, there were only certain bills like electricity and internet, which were important for the common folk. But thanks to the digital revolution, it is becoming increasingly active and important for the public to subscribe to Ai platforms, Gaming, consoles, and other miscellaneous activities.

For an average employee who is earning in the range of ₹50,000, it is simply tough to keep track of all the expenditures, including this particular OTT and AI bills. Perhaps it is time for the common public to start factoring in these platforms, also, while they are putting out their monthly budgets.
