For a long time, now, Telugu cinema has been leading the race in Indian cinema when it comes to producing films in big volume and also quantity wise. But this is becoming a new problem for the production companies as the OTT platforms are eventually backing away from big deals.

According to the inside, talk in the industry, several big Hero films are still able to bring big money through the OTT platforms, but the problem is coming with small and mid range films.

Particularly several mid-range heroes in Telugu cinema are reportedly facing a big problem with regard to the non-theatrical market. This is primarily due to the fact that several OTT platforms have started to back away from the earlier agreements as they are no longer willing to pay huge amounts of money.

While the industry has become dependent on OTT platforms to recover the production costs of each of these films, this new strategy imposed by OTT platforms against midrange films has become a discussion now.

Apparently, these leading OTT platforms are to cut down on the expenditure on mid range films as they are not too confident about the same. Only heroes who have a successful track record and can bring the audience even on OTT are able to sell their films for huge prices.

This is going to be a major concern for the entire film industry in the days to follow if this situation is not rectified at the earliest.

Many producers who had already started films by believing that they would get big deals from the OTT platforms are now in a state of bother. They are not sure if the promotional and production budget can be recovered through the OTT deals that they are going to strike.

It has become extremely evident that the OTT platforms have started to dictate the terms in the film industry, and this is never going to be a good sign for the producers.
