Big Shocker OTT Release Only Seven Days After Release

Tollywood keeps surprising us, and now it’s Paanch Minar making waves. Normally, Telugu films stay in theaters for at least four weeks before going to OTT, and the usual window is about eight weeks to protect box office collections. But this time, the rules went out the window. Panch Minar hit Amazon Prime Video just seven days after its theatrical release.

The movie, starring Raj Tarun and Raashi Singh, opened in theaters on November 21, 2025, and by November 28, it was already online. That’s a super quick move for Telugu cinema. Directed by Ram Kadumula, didn't do well and it didn’t get much attention in theaters. People in the industry point to weak promotions, little buzz, and heavy competition from other big releases that week.

Lately, many Tollywood films are struggling to pull crowds. Movies like Telusu Kada didn’t click in theaters or even on OTT. Flops like these make streaming platforms look like a safer bet, at least films get a second chance to find an audience.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens with the big Sankranti releases coming up, like Raja Saab and Mana Shankara Vara Prasad. Will they do well in theaters, or will OTT start taking over even faster? We have to wait and see.
