Need of the hour! Tollywood needs pan India music composer

There was once a time when Tollywood had the reputation of holding some of the biggest music director in the country. The likes of Mani Sharma, Devi Sri Prasad and Thaman used to observe dominate the musical scene.

But it has reached a point where the Telugu film makers are now no longer interested in finalising our domestic Telugu music directors for big League pan Indian films.

Only Devi Sri Prasad is the exception here as he worked on Pushpa, which became a nationwide sensation.

And when the need is coming up for quality composers for Indian projects, our directors are happily going for Tamil sensation, Anirudh. He is the one who has become the primary choice for several big league films these days.

On the other hand, we have AR Rahman, who is also making a comeback in the Telugu cinema scene with Ram Charan’s Peddi.

Rajamouli is anyway going with Keeravani for his next project with Mahesh Babu, and this is unexpected choice, considering the rich legacy that two of them share.

But when it comes to other choices, there are very limited options that are available here as only Devi Sri Prasad and Thaman are the two effective individuals. Even Devi Sri Prasad has significantly slowed down in the recent past, and that must be noted.

The need of the hour for Tollywood now is the obvious choice for the Indian music composer like Anirudh. If someone can break into this space and generate the right efficacy, the sky is the limit here.
