Every hero starting from Tier 1 to the Tier 3, all of them are doing pan-Indian films that take a very long to get wrapped up. They are promoting the film heavily before its release. They hope to get a bigger market through these pan-Indian flicks.
A lot of actors are doing pan-Indian films that cater to the hero's image. To make sure that the pan-Indian market is intact, they are picking up new scripts very carefully. Some heroes are not stopping that pan-Indian level as they are trying for an international audience to their movies. Big heroes used to act in 3-4 movies per year which led to many industry folks getting work.
Also, the theatres used to run swiftly without any problems. The prizes would have been affordable and people would have enjoyed a lot. But the star heroes reduced their speed a lot. They are not even arriving with one film per year. Tier 2 heroes are releasing two films per year at a maximum. Due to this, people who work on various departments in the industry are out of work and theatre owners are forced to increase the ticket rates to get more money. This leads to people not coming to theatres.
The distributors and exhibitors are trying to get back their investment within a week of the movie's release and it is why the ticket rates often get hiked. At the same time, the OTT platforms are getting more reception from the public. Any big film is not lasting for more than a week or two. The medium and small films are being watched when they arrive on streaming platforms rather than going to theatres. Looks like pan-Indian movies are creating a big disturbance inside the film industry.
