By: Shanaz B Syed | 10 Dec 2025 2:05 PM ISTPradeep Ranganathan’s Dude came out three months ago for Diwali and already crossed ₹100 crore. So why are we talking about it now? Well, Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, senior writer behind hits like Megastar Chiranjeevi’s 1983 Khaidi and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Samarasimha Reddy, Indra, Tagore, and many more cult films. He has recently started a YouTube channel. He doesn’t rush to review on release day. Instead, he talks about screenplays, why some movies work, why some flop, and shares lessons for aspiring filmmakers, whenever he finds time.
On his channel, Paruchuri praised Dude’s director, Keerthiswaran, for a clever screenplay. He said the film is a good study for new directors. The movie, starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamita Baiju, mixes romance, comedy, and a few unexpected twists. It’s also streaming on Netflix now. Fans were eager to hear his thoughts, and he didn’t hold back.
He explained, “The movie starts with a failed love story. You expect it to go serious when the girl the hero likes marries someone else, but the director keeps it funny. The hero gets into police trouble, confusion arises because he’s the nephew of a minister, without that, the story would be totally different. There are twists around the heroine’s pregnancy, misunderstandings about the child, honestly, even I was questioning things while watching.”
Paruchuri also highlighted emotional moments, like the actor’s father’s sudden death and the hero’s choices. He said he enjoyed the film and the screenplay.
After the flop of Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy in 2019, Paruchuri hadn’t done movies for a while, so this candid, detailed review reminded fans why his opinions matter.
