Powerstar Pawan Kalyan showed up at a press meet in Hyderabad for his upcoming Movie, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, and mentioned that he showed up not for politics, not for power, but for a man who stood by him when things weren’t going smoothly: producer A.M. Ratnam. After years of silence on his films, this was the first time Pawan faced the media just to talk about a movie. That in itself made the event different. “I’m not someone who knows how to promote a film,” he said straight up. “But I came here today only for Ratnam garu.”

The actor didn’t sugarcoat anything. Hari Hara Veera Mallu has been delayed several times. It went through two COVID waves, behind-the-scenes creative issues, and scheduling troubles due to his political career. Still, Ratnam stuck around, never blamed anyone, never made noise. Pawan said that kind of patience and loyalty deserved support. “People trolled him, mocked him, but he stayed calm. That silence said more than words ever could.”

Pawan also made it clear he didn’t come from a place of privilege despite being Megastar Chiranjeevi’s brother. “Names don’t carry you forever. Without work, you don’t last here,” he said. He admitted he’s an “accidental actor,” not someone hungry for fame. But what stood out most was his blunt view on the film industry. “Making a movie is like going to war. Every scene is a battle. Every delay is a wound. But we pushed through.”

Talking about the bigger picture, Pawan said cinema still has the power to connect people in a society that’s quick to divide itself by caste, religion, and politics. “Movies don’t care about that stuff. They pull people together. That’s the real power of this industry.”

This wasn’t a flashy event with rehearsed lines or viral-ready soundbites. It was just a man standing up for the people who stood by him. And in doing so, Pawan gave Hari Hara Veera Mallu something money can’t buy, his word.
