By: Shanaz B Syed | 8 Oct 2025 4:08 PM ISTThe sound of ticket counters clicking in rhythm can be sweeter than music to a producer’s ear. That’s what happened when Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s gangster drama They Call Him OG joined the rare Nizam ₹50 crore share club. The film now stands beside titles like Baahubali 2, RRR, Salaar, Kalki 2898 AD, Devara, and Pushpa 2: The Rule.
Before its release, OG was surrounded by heavy buzz and record advance bookings. The first weekend saw huge crowds, and though the pace dipped later, Pawan’s fans carried it forward. The film turned into a clean hit within twelve days, his first solid success after more than a decade. For an actor who once ruled with Attarintiki Daredi, this comeback has more weight than numbers can show.
Trade reports say OG made about ₹175 crore worldwide by the end of its second weekend, crossing its break-even mark. In Nizam alone, the film collected ₹50.20 crore, a mark few have reached. Collections from Andhra, Ceded, and overseas stayed steady, with over 20,000 tickets sold even on day twelve.
Though a few areas are yet to touch profit, the film’s hold remains firm. If it continues this way into the third weekend, the distributors are expected to land in the safe zone. Beyond figures, the mood in theatres tells its own story. For fans, this is not about revenue charts but about seeing their star rise again after years of uneven runs. With OG, Pawan Kalyan has not just delivered a hit, he has reminded everyone why he’s still called the Power Star.
