OG Premieres In Few Hours: HC Gives Big Shock!

In just a few hours from now, Pawan Kalyan will be returning to the big screens with OG. Just prior to the same, Telangana High Court has issued a shocking order regarding the ticket prices for the premier shows.

The Telangana High Court has stopped the special ticket hike that was given for Pawan Kalyan’s movie OG in Telangana. Earlier, the state government allowed theaters to sell tickets at higher rates and even permitted extra shows.

But a case was filed against this order. The petitioner argued that according to law, only the Hyderabad Police Commissioner and the District Collectors have the power to allow ticket price changes. The government cannot directly issue such orders.

The High Court agreed with this view and suspended the order. Because of this, there is now confusion about tickets that were already sold at higher rates. In Andhra Pradesh, however, things are different. The ticket hike and extra shows are continuing without any issues. This creates a sharp contrast between the two states.

Now, the Telangana government may have to bring a new order through the correct authorities. The ticket hikes can be validated through police commissioners and district collectors so a new order from those top ranked officials is likely to be out soon for the premieres to go ahead as planned.

Distributors and theater owners are also waiting for clarity because the collections of a big film like OG depend a lot on higher ticket prices and benefit shows.
