The deputy chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pavan Kalyan attended the promotional event of Ustaad Bhagat Singh last night and he had a series of interesting remarks to make at the same.

Remarks made by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on movie ticket price hikes have sparked a lively debate among film audiences and industry circles.

His comments came during the promotional event of the upcoming film Ustaad Bhagat Singh, where he addressed the recurring controversy surrounding increased ticket prices for big budget releases.

Speaking on the issue, Pawan Kalyan said cinema is not a compulsory activity and that audiences have the choice to decide whether or not they want to watch a film in theatres. He pointed out that people today have multiple entertainment options, including OTT platforms, and watching a movie on the big screen ultimately remains a personal decision.

He also highlighted the financial pressures faced by filmmakers. According to him, producers invest massive amounts in large scale films and sometimes request temporary ticket price hikes during the initial days of release in order to recover their investments.

The remarks, however, triggered mixed reactions. Several members of the film industry supported his view, arguing that escalating production costs make such pricing strategies necessary for big star films.

At the same time, a section of moviegoers expressed concern that rising ticket prices could make theatre viewing less accessible for common audiences.

The debate once again reflects the broader conversation within the Telugu film industry about balancing rising production budgets with affordability for viewers.
