Harish Shankar Reaffirms Ustaad Bhagat Singh Original Film Status

Harish Shankar, who’s known for a few remakes in Tollywood, finally cleared the air about Ustaad Bhagat Singh. There’s been plenty of chatter that it might be a remake, but he shut that down at a Hyderabad promo event on Saturday. Fans had been guessing for years, and now we finally know, it’s something original.

At the single launch, he made it clear: not a remake, not a love story. It’s a full-on mass entertainer, built to give fans exactly what they want from a Powerstar Pawan Kalyan film. He also dismissed the rumors that Pawan caused the delays, turns out, the hold-up was mostly him, juggling ideas, switching from a love story to remake thoughts before finally sticking to a solid mass script.

Harish Shankar also praised Pawan Kalyan’s work ethic. The actor apparently worked 18-hour days sometimes, rushing to wrap the shoot. He’d go from cabinet meetings in Mangalagiri straight to Hyderabad sets, late at night, no complaints. Shankar admitted the smooth shoot and early wrap were only possible because of Pawan’s support.

Sreeleela and Rashi Khanna are all set to light up the screen in Ustaad Bhagat Singh, aiming for a grand Summer 2026 release. But the real heat? The first single, Dekhlenge Saala, is already smashing records on YouTube and Spotify. After the OG craze, the hype meter for this film is off the charts.
