Mahesh Babu's film "Brahmotsavam," directed by Srikanth Addala, turned out to be a major disaster in the Tollywood industry, causing buyers to face significant losses. Following this setback, Srikanth Addala shifted his focus to directing "Narappa," a rural action drama, although it was a remake and had a direct OTT release.

Subsequently, Srikanth Addala continued to explore the raw, rustic mass genre with "Peddha Kapu 1," which unfortunately fared even worse than "Brahmotsavam." The film failed to recover even 1% of its rights costs, leaving buyers who had purchased it at high prices with a 100% loss.

The worldwide rights for "Peddha Kapu 1" were sold for Rs 12.5 crore, but the movie's release was met with disinterest from the audience. Mixed and negative word of mouth resulted in the film earning less than Rs 30 lakh on its opening day, shocking the trade and buyers alike. Overall, "Peddha Kapu 1" proved to be a bigger disaster than "Brahmotsavam."

The film starred Virat Karna and Pragathi Srivastava in lead roles and featured an ensemble cast including Rao Ramesh, Aadukalam Naren, Tanikella Bharani, Naga Babu, Brigada Saga, Rajeev Kanakala, Anasuya, Eeshwari Rao, and Naren. Miriyala Ravinder Reddy produced the film under the Dwarka Creations banner.
