Can These Five Films Stop Peddi's Blitzkrieg?
Well, what could stop this collection's blitzkrieg? Surely another good film should do, or Peddi would get the attention as long as it is running in theatres.
By: Shanaz B Syed | 10 Jun 2026 4:52 PM ISTDespite some critics lambasting the movie for being routine fare with the heroine’s skin show becoming the most hated point of the movie, Ram Charan’s latest outing “Peddi” has stormed into the three hundred crores club quite easily. In just five days, the film has garnered more than ₹330 crores gross from the box office, and is still continuing to show its power on the weekdays also. Well, what could stop this collection's blitzkrieg? Surely another good film should do, or Peddi would get the attention as long as it is running in theatres.
One of the first films to arrive in theatres after the Peddi storm is none other than veteran director Singeetham Srinivasa Rao’s Sing Geetham, which is hitting cinemas on June 12th. As the film is produced by Nag Ashwin of Kalki 2898 AD fame, surely it’s getting terrific publicity and great attention as well. Though the cast of the film are not crowd pullers, it’s Singeetham and Nag Ashwin who are right now acting as the driving forces. If this film gets a blockbuster talk, surely it will have a bit of impact on Peddi’s run.
And the following week, on June 19th, more than a dozen movies are hitting the cinemas. Of them, Samantha’s Maa Inti Bangaram is considered to be the biggest contender as the film marks the return of the senior heroine to a full-length role after a long time. Along with this movie, another youthful film Deewanaa is also hitting cinemas. Vadde Naveen’s re-entry film Transfer Trimurthulu is also hitting cinemas on the same day. Along with them, two talked-about dubbing movies, Vijay Anthony’s Vanda Devullu and Balan: The Boy, which are carrying super positive buzz, are also releasing on the same day.
In fact, schools in Telangana will reopen from June 15th, and so will colleges, and that would make the family audience super busy from then on. That naturally cuts down the flow towards the theatres. And if any of these films actually make an impact, then Peddi’s dream run might get affected a little.
