Talk: Peddi Failed In Tamil, Struggling In Hindi
Especially in the Hindi belt, Peddi is expected to make it quite big. Spending almost 3 crores, the makers of the movie have even held a special AR Rahman concert in Bhopal to get hype for the movie.

While the film has amassed ₹240 crores gross already from the worldwide box office, it’s a shocker that its performance in two particular regions still can’t be understood. These days, regional films in the south are doing great at the box office in other places too, but then Peddi got a shocker.
Especially in the Hindi belt, Peddi is expected to make it quite big. Spending almost 3 crores, the makers of the movie have even held a special AR Rahman concert in Bhopal to get hype for the movie. However, in its first weekend of 4 days, Peddi made only ₹10 crores gross from this region, which is very low compared to how some big ticket mass films like Pushpa 2 and Kantara 2 have done there. It proves that the penetration of the movie is quite low into the Northern hinterlands and even mass centres in MP, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh haven’t embraced the movie, for reasons unknown.
Now coming to Tamil Nadu, even the big ticket mammoth film like Baahubali 2 hasn’t done well there, so naturally Peddi will not be expecting a red carpet to be unfurled. Treading on the same path, Peddi hasn’t even made more than ₹3 crores from this territory if early reports are to be believed. That means the Ram Charan starrer directed by Buchi Babu Sana is an out-and-out washout in Tamil Nadu. Well, not all films could be true pan-South-India or Pan-India movies.
