Why Ram Charan's Peddi Avoiding June 4th?

The date June 4 looks open. But Ram Charan’s latest commercial shot at the box office, Peddi, is not taking the bait. While Peddi was initially set for an April 30th release, it didn’t happen. The team shifted to June, but without locking a date. Now it’s down to two options. June 4 or June 25th. But many are wondering why June 4th is not a date the team is considering.

On paper, June 4th looks tempting, but then, Yash’s Toxic is still in the same window. There is no official announcement about postponement, but only silence so far. So, If Peddi locks June 4th and Toxic stays, it’s a direct clash. Not ideal for two big films. But then, even if Toxic postpones at the last minute, Peddi won’t have enough time to build proper momentum. The whole of publicity act including city tours, media push, and visibility across markets, will be missed out. That costs money, too. Spend too early, and the buzz fades. Spend too late, and it doesn’t build.

Keeping all the uncertainties in mind, Peddi team is leaning towards June 25th as per insider reports. That happens to be a safer window, and there will be enough time to finish patchwork, shoot the special song, and lock post-production properly. But then, hope the Buchi Babu Sana directorial gets a safe landing on 25th without further delays. Also, Charan needs to kickstart the promotions and bring in Janhvi Kapoor as well as AR Rahman into the scene to grab the spotlight for the movie.
