Before the film hit theatres, the makers had said that Janhvi's character, Achiyamma, would be very important to the story. Many fans expected her to have a powerful and memorable role. However, after watching the film, many viewers felt that the character did not have enough importance. Several people also criticized a few scenes involving her, saying they were unnecessary. Because of this, the heroine's track became one of the negatives of the film. Social media was filled with trolling and discussions about how the role could have been written much better.
On the other hand, Akhil's Lenin presented a completely different example. Bhagyashri Borse's role received appreciation from audiences and critics. Instead of being just a glamour character, she was given a meaningful role that supported the story from beginning to end.
Many viewers felt that Bhagyashri's character was one of the biggest strengths of Lenin. The writing gave her enough emotional moments, while the presentation made the character feel important. Her performance also helped the audience connect with the story on a deeper level.
Interestingly, both Peddi and Lenin are rural based commercial entertainers. Yet, the response to the heroine's role in each film has been completely different. This clearly shows that the success of a heroine's character depends more on good writing than on screen presence alone.
A well-written female character can add emotional depth, strengthen the story and leave a lasting impression on the audience. At the same time, a weakly written role can disappoint viewers, even if it is played by a popular actress.
The different reactions to Peddi and Lenin have now started a fresh discussion among movie lovers. Many believe that commercial films should give heroines meaningful characters instead of limiting them to songs and a few scenes.
These two films may encourage star heroes and filmmakers to pay more attention to writing strong female characters. Good writing can make a heroine's role one of the biggest highlights of a film, and Lenin has become a perfect example of that.
