By: Tupaki Desk | 19 Sept 2025 2:06 PM ISTActress Pooja Hegde recently shared a unique travel experience that caught the attention of her fans. Taking to Instagram stories, she revealed that her trip to the airport in Chennai turned into what she jokingly called a “boat ride.”
In the video, Pooja is seen sitting in the backseat of her car while showing the waterlogged streets of Chennai. Heavy rains had left several roads submerged, and the actress humorously compared her ride to a boat journey. Captioning the post, she wrote: “A quick boat ride to the airport... I have some interesting airport stories lately.” She also tagged Chennai, Tamil Nadu, as the location.
On the professional front, Pooja Hegde was recently seen in the special song “Monica” from the film Coolie. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the Tamil action-thriller features a star-studded cast including Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, and Reba Monica John.
One of the major highlights of Coolie is that it reunites Rajinikanth and veteran actor Sathyaraj after nearly 38 years. The last time the duo appeared together was in the 1986 blockbuster Mr. Bharath, where Sathyaraj played Rajinikanth’s father. Interestingly, Sathyaraj had declined roles in Rajinikanth’s earlier projects like Sivaji and Enthiran.
Coolie marks Rajinikanth’s 171st film and revolves around gold smuggling. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has confirmed that this film will not be linked to his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) but will remain a standalone project.
Looking ahead, Pooja Hegde has another big release lined up. She will be seen opposite Vijay in Jana Nayagan, a political action thriller directed by H. Vinoth. The film also stars Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, and Priyamani.
Jana Nayagan is expected to be Vijay’s final film before stepping into politics. The project, produced by KVN Productions, was first announced in September 2024 under the working title Thalapathy 69.
