Butta Bomma & Oh Sita, Struck At 70 Only
Finally, they got Varun Dhawan’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, which was released almost 12 days ago, but the result is nothing new.
By: Shanaz B Syed | 16 Jun 2026 3:25 PM ISTDusky siren Pooja Hegde hoped that after the Telugu industry stopped giving her big films, and the Tamil industry gave her flops like Retro and item songs like Monica (Coolie), the actress focused a lot on Bollywood. Including Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai, Kisi Ki Jaan, she got no respite. Guess what, we can’t even remember the big films done by beautiful Mrunal Thakur, as most of them are flops, even though she teamed up with Ajay Devgn and others. Finally, they got Varun Dhawan’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, which was released almost 12 days ago, but the result is nothing new.
Apparently, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has so far collected only ₹68 crores gross from the worldwide box office, which indicates that the movie is not working. Already, the rom-com genre is failing in Bollywood, and the 8-week OTT window is further affecting it. Though both Pooja and Mrunal competed with each other in terms of glamour show, even at the promotions, somehow all those things turned viral on social media but haven’t worked inside theatres. In the next couple of days, until it gets replaced in most places coming Friday, the film might end up collecting maybe 2-3 crores as per the trade reports. That means, both Butta Bomma Pooja and Sita Ramam’s Sita, Mrunal, are not even seeing their ₹100 crores grosser at the box office.
Both these heroines, who have enjoyed a stunning fame at the Telugu Box Office, and they are none other than Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur. While Pooja was shunted out of Tollywood for reasons unknown, as she got sacked from movies like Guntur Kaaram and Ustaad Bhagat Singh, Mrunal Thakur made big claims here that she would select only content-centric films. But currently it looks like both are continuing their purple patch in Bollywood.
